Let’s dive into blogging in 2022 starting with Kim and Dan for their Skyline Drive/Raven’s Roost overlook engagement photos! I will honestly never tire of going out and seeing the incredible landscape of our Blue Ridge mountains, and I was so excited to finally meet these two in person!
Kim and Dan will be getting married this fall at Morais Vineyards and I am already so ready to capture their day for them. They have this ease together, this natural chemistry, and having them in front of my camera was such a fun time. Their willingness to stand on the edge of a mountain (even once on his back!) on a chilly day was not something everyone might be game for, but these two are so laid-back and it was great getting to know them a bit more.

How did you meet?
We met through mutual friends during our second year of college. We were friends for a while and didn’t actually start dating until our senior year of college.
What was your first thought when you saw or interacted with him/her for the first time?
Kim: I thought Dan was very tall and cute but kind of shy.
Dan: I thought Kim was attractive, fun, and easy to talk to.
How did you start dating?
Kim: After a night out with our friends, we got a late-night snack. We had such a fun conversation over dumplings so I texted Dan the next day and suggested we get lunch later that week.
How did the proposal happen?
Kim: We got engaged in March 2020 just as the world shut down. We were full of so many emotions after having to cancel an amazing trip and the fear of not knowing what would happen next with the pandemic. We decided to go for a walk to clear our heads and started to talk about our favorite memories throughout our relationship. We sat down on a bench overlooking the beach near our apartment and next thing you know Dan proposed. What started off as a terrible day ended up being one of the best days of our lives.
What quality/qualities do you love most about your partner?
Kim: My favorite thing about Dan is that he is dependable. I know that I can always count on him to be there for me and give me a hug when I need it.
Dan: Kim is the most empathetic and kind person I have ever met. I love how much she cares about other people.
What moment of your wedding day are you most anticipating?
Kim: I’m looking forward to our first look! We’re excited to share a moment alone and be able to talk/hug each other before the ceremony.
Dan: Even though we’re doing the first look, I’m still most excited to see her walking down the aisle towards me.
