Tomorrow is the one week anniversary of Kimmy and Chris’ rustic Spring Riverside on the Potomac wedding! Kimmy and Chris met at Virginia Tech and were close friends before starting to date shortly after graduation. They love the outdoors and (along with many of their wedding guests) are both dedicated Hokies. They got engaged March 4, 2018 and have been eagerly awaiting their day ever since. These two are absolutely adorable as a couple (and just as humans) but they are so sweet together and balance each other so well. Their wedding day was very windy but it was SUCH a beautiful day for a wedding and you couldn’t have asked for more! J. Morris Flowers designed their beautiful navy and blush Spring florals with touches of succulents and Courtney from Bellwether Events kept the whole day flowing smoothly and was so wonderful to work with. Their rustic fall barn reception had casual family-style seating adorned with lanterns, wood stumps, succulents, greenery, and florals. One of my favorite moments from their day was how the bride and groom introduced their wedding party, which was in a way I had never seen before. Instead of the traditional grand entrance, they had each one stand up at the table and Kimmy and Chris spoke about how they know each person, a few highlights about what they’ve been through and what they appreciate about them, and thanked them for being a part of their day. I thought that was a really sweet way to show them love and proves how thoughtful and awesome this couple is.
