Preferred Vendor Spotlight: Shadow Creek Weddings and Events

Today’s Preferred Vendor Spotlight blog post is highlighting one of our favorite wedding venues, Shadow Creek Weddings and Events in Purcellville, Virginia!

As a newer wedding venue (they have actually been open for just a couple of years now), brides quickly recognized what an amazing venue Shadow Creek is and they have filled up with bookings like crazy! Brides, if you are interested in Shadow Creek to be your wedding venue, keep in mind that you will have to plan decently far in advance in order to secure your date with them. This family-owned venue in Loudoun County is such a great blend of rustic elegance and the owner Lori is so wonderful and helpful. Every time I meet or speak with a bride who had their wedding or planned on having their wedding at Shadow Creek, they always rave about how accommodating the staff is, how much they and their guests loved their experience there, and how taken care of they felt through the entire process.

Many wonderful highlights of their venue are Gus (their horse who is present during cocktail hour), the firepits, the lawn games, the stunning high-ceiling barn with bistro lights,  and the picturesque farmland landscape — which all make for one uniquely beautiful and memorable wedding. As a photographer, beyond the beautiful barn and rolling hills, I must say that their bridal suite and groom’s room are two of the most beautifully decorated and naturally lit getting ready spaces I have seen at a wedding venue.

To get some more information about Shadow Creek, I asked Lori a bit more about her venue, so lets jump right into that!

When did your venue open?

October of 2014.

How many guests does your venue hold for an event?

300 seated comfortably with a dance floor in place.

How far out should a client pay a deposit to secure your services?

We are now accepting contracts for 2019, but do have some Friday and Sunday availability for 2018.

What feature/element of your venue are brides most often excited about?

I think the ability to have everything very centralized at one location, with handicap accessibility to every point on the property, whether it be the ceremony, the courtyard, or the reception.

Most brides worry about what happens if they have rain on their wedding day — what is your ceremony setup like on a rainy day?

We are large enough to be able to offer a couple different inside options, while still being able to hold the cocktail reception outside under the covered portico, which is converted to a glass atrium in the winter.

What makes Shadow Creek unique?

We offer the best of both worlds. The rustic look of a custom designed timber frame barn with the elegance of chandeliers, antiques and gorgeous furnishings combined to appeal to the taste of today’s brides.

What is your best piece of planning advice to a new bride?

Do NOT stress, your wedding will come together beautifully! Enjoy the day, it goes by way too fast to get caught up in the little things that can steal your joy.

What’s your ideal couple like?

Easy-going, creative, and having full trust and confidence in their vendors!
