How do you know you are loved? When 200 people come together across states and countries to witness you tie the knot! Many of Michelle and Blake’s guests came from all over the US, Europe, Canada, and Vietnam to be there to celebrate with them on their wedding day at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa and Marina in Cambridge, MD. The day ended up being pretty rainy, but I actually think the rain made their first look/bride and groom portraits pretty romantic with the fog in the distance, the wind, and umbrellas. I can say with certainty that not all couples would have been willing to go out on a floating dock for portraits with a storm coming before their ceremony even began, but these two were totally game for it, regardless of the weather. I was so impressed! They were just both so ready and excited to finally be getting married that the rest didn’t seem to matter. We didn’t have much time before the rain started coming down enough that we move for cover, so we spent the majority of portraits under the Regatta Pavilion. I must say that as a photographer, I was very happy to have had the covered pavilion space as an option so that the bridal party didn’t have to all be out in the rain, and because of this, it didn’t limit us to only going inside of the hotel for portraits in order to stay dry. The natural light that we were able to utilize under the pavilion was soft and much preferred and I am thankful to Carley for holding an umbrella over me so that I could photograph everyone without getting soaked!
Michelle and Blake, thank you for including me in your beautiful day. I am so grateful to have been a part of it! You are incredibly loved by everyone around you and I felt lucky to witness a small piece of your story together. Congratulations on this beautiful step in your life!
