For the past three years, I have had the huge honor of taking this darling family’s photos every fall and every year they always nail it. You may actually recognize them from the fun fair photo session I had with them last year, which remains one of my favorite shoots to date. I’m definitely going to have to add this family into my wardrobe section of my portrait styling guide cause they always coordinate their outfits so well together and I mayyyy have slightly squealed when I saw them step out of the car. Every year they have a different kind of environment for their session and this year they chose more of a rural setting here in Fredericksburg. We met up one morning last weekend and the light was so pretty and it was so peaceful out there on the farm. Can I also tell you that I am always in awe of how well little C does? We all know that little boys would rather do just about anything else over getting their photo taken but he always does such a good job! He is always a bit shy at first but he is the cutest little guy and once he opens up to the camera, I really can’t stop clicking my shutter. He must have kissed both of his parents about 50 times and given his mom about 15 flowers within the hour we were shooting. Way too cute! I can’t wait to share a peek into their session, so here we go! To the S family, I appreciate you guys so much. Thanks for having me take your photos again! It’s always such a joy to photograph you together and I truly hope you enjoy looking back through the photos. XO, Sara
The image sequence below – fist bump explosion! I love it.
Ahh! I just love this image below. So, so sweet.
Flying!
Edited to add: I get a LOT of messages/emails asking about the location for this session. I wanted to update this post so that anyone who stumbles across it can easily know that these were taken at a farm behind a location called “Lick Run Community Center” off of Plank Rd. If you search for that building on Google Maps, you’ll see the farm area behind the parking lot on Google street view. I usually park in that lot and photographers do often use this location for photo sessions (no fee that I’ve ever come across), however, I don’t know if the rules or owners have since changed. I have not photographed at this location since the fall of 2020, so I’ve not been there in a good while. I hope this helps.
Hi! Curious where these photos were taken?! I see so many photographers using this location and can’t seem to find the name! Not local to the area, but doing a session in Fredericksburg in June and I think this would be perfect! Thanks so much!
