A Scenic Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery Engagement Session in Delaplane VA | Michelle + Blake

I met up with Michelle and Blake at the beautiful and scenic venue Blue Valley Vineyard and Winery in Delaplane, VA for their engagement session! It was actually my very first time there but the venue owners were so friendly and accommodating and I so appreciate their willingness to allow this awesome couple to have their engagement session there.

We actually began Michelle and Blake’s engagement session with Blake notifying me that he really doesn’t enjoy having his photo taken, but I assured him that it is pretty typical for guys to be a bit apprehensive with the idea of focusing a photo session entirely to engagement photos. Once in a while I come across a guy who is amped and excited to be in front of the camera, but most of the time, they feel the very same way Blake did. Every session usually always starts off with whomever is being photographed feeling a bit awkward and uncomfortable as it’s usually their first time having a photo session, but fear not, this is totally normal and you are not alone! As the session goes on, you fall into the rhythm of it and you start to understand exactly what it is that is happening and what to expect. I really just love having engagement sessions cause it gives you a chance to experience what it’s to be like on the day of your wedding and we all get the chance to hang out a bit while you celebrate the fact that you two are engaged! I enjoyed my session with these two because Michelle and Blake are both hilarious and know how to have fun together; I love how much they can laugh and just go with the flow! Thank you both for trusting me and hanging in there while we explored Blue Valley’s grounds. These two are actually getting married in just a few weeks and I am really excited for their day to arrive.
