A Rustic Bluemont Vineyard Wedding | Bluemont VA Wedding Photographer

This past Friday, Monica and Dylan held their rustic barn wedding at The Stable at Bluemont Vineyard in Bluemont VA and it was so much fun! I had been waiting for Monica and Dylan’s day for so long so I can’t imagine how long it felt for them — they had their engagement session over a year ago so it was definitely a good amount of time between their engagement session and their wedding day. I met up with Monica at Jenny’s Hair Salon in Purcellville to begin the day and Melissa went over and met with the guys at their Leesburg hotel and spent the afternoon with them while they played cards and got ready! Jenny’s Salon was so kind to allow Monica’s dogs Pretzel and Pika to join her while getting ready. It meant a lot to Monica to be able to have them there with her in some way on their wedding day. Her dogs are her family and I think it is so awesome that she felt they had to be there with her because I can relate to that bigtime!

When we finally made it over to Bluemont Vineyard for Monica and Dylan’s first look, Dylan was beaming from ear to ear as soon as he saw her. They were both so excited to finally be getting married and I loved seeing how relaxed they were through it all. We had to take everyone’s portraits during an incredibly bright part of the afternoon, so I attempted to keep everyone in the shade as best I could. Monica’s bridesmaids unfortunately couldn’t hide in the shade during the ceremony and were staring straight into the sun, so they slipped on sunglasses about halfway through the ceremony! Monica and Dylan had lawn games set up for their guests during cocktail hour and the games were a huge hit. Monica’s sister made the giant crepe bouquets which were not only just pretty, they were also super unique and meaningful. Everyone partied and danced through the night in Bluemont’s incredibly gorgeous barn and I was so honored to be there to witness it all. The Stable at Bluemont and the grounds there are stunning alone, but Kathleen from Elegant Momentz added some rustic touches throughout and the whole day was just beautiful. Monica and Dylan, thank you so much for choosing me to capture such a special day in your lives! May your love grow more and more with every passing year…Congratulations!
