Let me start this post by telling you all a quick little backstory here. Ricky and I had first met several years ago when we worked together in Norfolk. He worked in data as an Oracle programmer and I worked in graphic design. Years later, when my husband and I put a simple status on Facebook expressing that we were hoping to save a very depressed chinchilla, Ricky chimed in and told us to go back and get her and that he himself would fund us to be able to pull her out of her sad situation. A little rodent that he had never seen before, housed in some sad little cage far away… and yet he was still willing to directly send me money in order for her to hopefully have a better life. That is the kind-hearted man that Ricky is. Actually, my husband and I had never even seen a chinchilla before her, and we certainly did not know at all how to properly care for her; chinchillas are exotic animals being that they come from the Andes Mountains in South America and do take quite a bit of care and maintenance. However once we busted her out of her situation, I quickly fell in love with that little fuzzybutt and we ended up adopting her ourselves… thus sparking my journey and obsession with chinchillas. Our Annabelle has been spoiled rotten by the two of us and living the chinchilla life since then. In fact, we have recently adopted another and are now parents to two sweet chinchillas! I never would have known I could fall so madly and deeply in love with these little babies and I’m a definitely a huge animal lover. Had it not been for Ricky, I might not have ever have adopted Annabelle. As teeny tiny as she is, she fills my life with so much laughter and love. I’ll always be so very grateful to him for that.
So needless to say, when I found out that Ricky was engaged, I knew she too must’ve been pretty special. And right I was. Amber and Ricky are just so natural and at ease together. I can genuinely feel how much they care for and respect each other and how perfectly right they are together. Being able to witness their friends/family celebrating them together and seeing how much love there was for the both of them was truly overwhelming and inspiring. Amber and Ricky, you two deserve such incredible things and I am humbled to have played a small part in your day. I hope you have an amazing life together!
