When we showed up last Saturday morning to photograph Kathryn and Chris’s wedding day, it was honestly not looking good weather-wise. I expected to find a stressed, frantic couple (and if I had, I would have understood completely), but instead I only found two people who were so excited to be marrying each other and never stopped smiling once the ENTIRE day. These two realized that despite the storms, they were just so tremendously grateful to all of those who worked tirelessly for their day and for those who came far and wide to celebrate with them. Kathryn’s father John had even spent the morning pouring gravel and making a walkway because it just wouldn’t stop raining. I remember at one point of the day, when it was literally a downpour outside of the four walls of her parents home and the rain completely halted our time for portraits, Kathryn was standing inside chatting with her family and friends, smiling and said aloud, “No point in stressing out, you can’t control the weather!”. Though most people could understand and agree with this logic, not many would be so calm and accepting about it on their wedding day. The thoughtfulness, gratefulness, and love I saw these two people exude throughout the span of their day made it so clear to me why they were loved so hard in return. And we really couldn’t be happier for these two! So please bear with me as I BOMBARD you all with many of my favorites from their day — so much hard work came from their family, friends, and incredible vendors we were lucky enough to work alongside; I hope you all can see how much blood, sweat, and tears went into all of this! They were married in a small little historic church built in 1706 – had their first look in the porch of the log cabin that Kathryn’s great grandfather had built – had the most incredible tent I’ve ever seen set on their family’s gorgeous property just for this occasion – a pie bar and doughnuts for their guests at the end of the night – Chris not only brewed his own beer and personalized the labels, but had also built a very cool bar on display – and the bride and groom ended the night with escaping off on a private boat and riding into a sky of fireworks. Seriously, how amazing is that?
A sneak peek of their wedding will be coming next from my husband/business partner Adam, but in the meantime I just want to thank the wonderful Carley Rehberg Photography for coming along and literally being my right hand that day. It is impossible for me to be in two places at once and I would like to extend a special thank you to her because she rocked it, yet again. Also, a special thank you to Shannon Durso for coming along to help and assist Adam with video coverage on their day – it’s always a pleasure! Thank you to all, and congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. DeLoose… here’s to your next adventure!
Sweet Tory made her rounds saying hello!
Her first look with her dad – so sweet!
And then her first look with Chris – his mouth dropped open when he saw her!
And of course Tory had to join for some portraits — love!
Check out the sky – that’s when the rain was coming our way again!
And so it begins — detail overload!
