The Process

Wondering if we might be a good fit? Let’s walk through what you can expect during our journey together. It’s my priority to make this experience as easy for you as possible.

Be sure to fill out the contact form to inquire! If you have any details that you would like to share about the nature of your event/portrait session, I would love to hear it. You can expect to hear back from me within 2 business days, and if you don't hear from me within that timeframe, please check your spam folder or email me directly at sara@wolfcrestphotography.com.

Step 1: Inquire.

The details

I value the time we get to chat together, hear your story, and familiarize myself with your vision. We’ll schedule a complimentary phone or virtual consultation during this time.

For portraits, we’ll mostly have the conversation through email. But if you want or need to chat on the phone, I’m available!

Step 2: Connect.

The details

Ready to move forward? It’s time to choose your custom collection. Once you do, I’ll send over your contract to sign and invoice to pay the retainer and reserve your date. From there, the planning begins! You’ll also receive a digital guide for your chosen experience – Weddings or Portraits – to walk through all the details and my best tips leading up to your session.

Step 3: Logistics.

The details

You’ll get a preview within 48 hours after our time together. Full gallery delivery takes about 4-6 weeks for weddings and 2 weeks for portraits.

And yes, you always have printing rights!

Step 4: Sneak Peeks & Full Gallery.

The details

The entire process was incredibly personal.

Robin & Ezra

She made us feel like our wedding was the most important wedding she had ever photographed.

On our wedding day she struck the perfect balance of being assertive, warm and composed to make sure everything went smoothly with our photos and our timeline.

Mary & Timmy

KATHERINE

I don't know about all of you, but the first few minutes of posing in front of a camera in public is awkward.

Kathy & Nick

Thank goodness for Sara's great direction and good humor - all of the weirdness faded away fast, and we were romantically posing like pros in no time.

Jenny & Adam

She makes taking lots of romantic photos with your significant other feel really comfortable and natural.

And to make sure to adequately prep us, she sent us a guide book to taking good photos, filled with helpful tips.

Teresa & John

My husband is not super great in front of the camera, so I was a little nervous for the engagement session but Sara made us feel so comfortable and we had so much fun, which showed in the pictures.

I do recognize and appreciate that some guidance is necessary to facilitate space for letting your walls down in front of the camera. Rather than stiff and forced posing, I’ll talk you through our time together, sharing prompts along the way that invite you to get comfortable and allow for natural moments to happen.

We don’t consider ourselves naturals in front of the camera. Do you offer direction on what to do and even how to pose?

Will you provide a second photographer on our wedding day?

I don’t put a cap on the amount of photos you receive. I’ll go through and sort out all of the blinking/unflattering photos, and you receive the rest edited. Typically it’s anywhere from 800-1k photos for an average 8 hour wedding day. The longer coverage time, the more photos you usually get. A normal hour long session usually receives in the range of 80-100 edited photos.

You’ll receive a digital gallery set up to make it easy to order prints, canvases, and other keepsakes – if you’d like. All images are available to download, and you’ll receive a printing release to print any images yourself.

How many digital images will we receive? And will we get to keep and print all of them?

Gallery delivery day is one of the best days! For weddings, you’ll receive your gallery 4-6 weeks following your big day. And for portraits, 2-3 weeks. But you know I’m always anxious to get you a few sneak peeks sooner – generally within 48 hours after our time together.

When can we expect to receive our digital gallery?

Do you offer payment plans?

I am based out of Fredericksburg, Virginia. I do take a limited number of traveling weddings and am open to traveling anywhere!

I also occasionally take on portrait sessions out of the area, so please reach out if you have interest.

where are you based and do you travel?

I do not offer videography services at this time.

Do you offer videography services?

I choose not to change the way you look, beyond removing blemishes, bruises, scrapes, etc.

Can you photoshop our images?

A retainer reserves your date and the remainder is due a month before your wedding day or on the day of your portrait session. If you need a payment plan, let me know and we can discuss!

For many reasons, a second photographer is included in all Wolfcrest Photography wedding collections! Having a trusted second photographer means it’s the closest I can get to being in two different places at once. As a team, we’ll take images of your day at the same time and provide you with a variety of shots and angles you wouldn’t otherwise receive.
